Today marked the first day of training for the Controversial Teacher Professional development program. Most of the training institutions had scheduled to start the training on December 27th. However, after the date being pronounced as a holiday they postponed the program to start today.
The training is basically virtual for almost all the institutions. Teachers have complained frustrations from the training institutions who seem to have not been well prepared. Below are some of the comments from teachers about the exercise.
”I’m not able to access the KEMI training slides and the virtual campus is very cumbersome to access. The facilitators promised to send the slides or notes later today but have not been able. I really rely on those notes or slides in order to attempt the assignment.”
”Why some universities are not updating teachers and yet we have paid this is really stressing out our minds.”
”Am Bonny Isaac tsc no XYZ. I have registered but no link nor zoom ID has been send yet,what is the way forward?”
Some teachers however commented in the affirmative about the ongoing TPD training.
”It’s a good method for offering teachers a decent way of promotion instead of an interview and even enhancing one’s teaching skills and attitudes on the job.” Says Thomas

It is a frustrating exercise
I am from mku we started on Monday but so far I haven’t been able to complete Monday assignments n Tuesday’s classes were unaccessible . It’s so frustrating for me wasting the whole day trying to be part of the training I have paid but its only accessible to some. I have complained but no response from the institution.
